Hiroaki Ohta has been hand crafting knives since 1989 and began making Full Time in 1998. His folding knives are prized the world over for their precision and beauty. Hiroaki Ohta’s knives have been featured in the KNIVES Annuals and appeared in BLADE magazine last year.

This is a superb Drop Point that Hiroaki makes, a Special Hidden Tang version that I ordered in an Large Size.
The ATS34 Steel blade has a Full Height Hollow Grind, a labor intensive Hand Rubbed / High Satin finish and an expert Heat Treat that leaves the blade at 61-62 Rc.
Hiroaki chose some Gorgeous “Aged” Sambar Stag for the handle, it has excellent Color and Grain. The Hidden Tang extends aprox 7/8s of the way ~ almost to the end of the handle, completely encased in Natural Micarta.
The handle has unique, Hand Filling contours, the Guard and Blind Bolt Covers are tough Black Micarta. Hiroaki makes the handles of his knives with the ultimate comfort in mind.
His knives are super examples of Form & Function – no hand fatigue, no hot spots.
Hiroaki makes his own thick Leather Sheaths, Hand Stitched. On this one he has added a special safety feature ~ a Full Kydex Liner.
The knife is a perfect fit and you can hear the Knife “lock” into place due to the Kydex Liner, this knife will not even fall out if you turn the sheath upside down and shake it!
