This is a very special 21st Century Friction Folder / Collaboration knife hand made by Hiroaki Exclusively for The Fort
Hiroaki and I first made this design in 2013 and each time I am lucky enough to get a couple they Sell Out very quickly!
The uniquely shaped Harpoon blade was hand ground and then given a labor intensive Hand Rubbed Finish and multiple applications of Cold Blueing.
A Friction Folder is the oldest of folding knife designs, ancient Viking Age Friction Folders (or Penny Knives as they were called ) have recently been discovered in Rome where they were a standard item for men of wealth and privilege!
This 21st Century example by Hiroaki has Full Carbon Fiber handles, a Carbon Fiber Backspacer, Red Liners and a Full Length G-10 Backspacer for frame strength.
When opened, the Tongue is recessed into the handle.
It has a very smooth action and the blade is Perfectly centered when closed.
A full size Handle allows for a secure comfortable grip.
Hiroaki makes his own Sheaths for every knife, this knife comes with not one But TWO Sheaths.
It comes with a Fine Leather Neck Sheath that has a Custom Molded Kydex Liner (which holds the knife VERY securely when worn around the Neck) and also with a well stitched Pocket Sheath.
A wonderful knife that will appeal to anyone who wants a 21st Century creation in a Traditional Design.
