I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Gun & Knife Shows, most often to repeat Customers. Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

Here is another Sole Authorship piece from Herb, he Forged it with a straight Spine blade with a very slight Drop to the Point.
This knife was Hand Forged to shape with Herb’s Rare Twist Damascus. This is a knife with artistic attributes, but I guarantee it will perform as good as it looks.
Herb explained that his high contrast Carbon Damascus blades have over 2,500 layers.
The knife has an Extremely comfortable Full Grip handle of Fossilized Walrus Jaw Bone. This example has especially beautiful natural color and deposits. This handle is smooth, it has a Natural Taper at the Front and a nice swell towards the butt – fills the hand very comfortably.
On this knife Herb has also added some Vine Filework on almost the entire length of the Spine which looks great but serves a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement.
The rich colored handle is flanked by thin Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Maple Burl forward spacer with incredible Grain!
A Perfect EDC sized Hunter that look and feel great riding on your belt.
The Heavy Leather sheath has an African Lizard Skin as the inlay. Herb also added some Custom Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
