  I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Gun & Knife Shows, most often to repeat Customers.  Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

  Here is a Large Drop Point Hunter from Herb that has high contrast Sole Authorship Random Pattern Damascus.  This is a great looking knife knife with artistic attributes, but I guarantee it will perform as good as it looks.  

 Herb explained that his high contrast Random Pattern Carbon Damascus blades have over 2,500 layers. 

The knife has a comfortable Full Grip handle of Stabilized Zebra Shin Bone.  This material is very dense and has beautiful Natural deposits of color. 

The handle is flanked by Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Myrtle Burl forward spacer which adds a dash of contrast to the handle. Note, this one also has a Double Guard for extra security. 

On this knife Herb has also added some Vine Filework on almost the entire length of the Spine which looks great but serves a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement. 

  The Heavy Leather RH Belt sheath has an African Ostrich Leg Skin inlay along with Custom Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
