Herb often makes modified Skinner patterns but no one that looks at this big knife can call it anything other than a full blooded skinner. This one sports superb Derr signature Bird’s Eye Damascus blade, this High Carbon Damascus blade has over 1,200 layers and will perform as well as it looks. The blade is a full 1 1/2" wide and provides plenty of belly for skinning. I did not picture it but the spine is almost completely Fileworked.
The handle is made of Fossilized Stellar Sea Cow Rib bone. This material was retrieved from the frigid Oceans of the far North and the beautiful color and grain are all natural. The Spalted Maple Spacer compliments the handle material perfectly.
The Heavy Leather sheath has an exotic Crocodile Skin inlay along with Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
