Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to offer another of Scott’s knives from a Private Collection. This knife has Persentation Grade Pearl with lots of natural Fire that have been precision inlayed into each handle scale.
I must confess that due to the Flawless Mirror Polish of the entire knife I had a very difficult time in getting good pictures without glare or showing my ugly mug in the blade. 🙂
This custom Modified Tanager folder features Scott’s patented Self-lock mechanism. The self-lock gets its name from the fact that the blade locks itself in position; the blade is the only moving part besides a spring and ball bearing detent. When the checkered surface of the release is depressed the base of the blade shifts upward and unlocks. This special knife also has Matching Internal and External Filework on the Liners.
In the locked position pressure on the cutting edge will not unlock it, but in fact locks it more securely with a binding action. The lock mechanism is contained within the base of the blade and recessed into the front bolsters. It is packed with grease and sealed against the entry of dirt.
The extremely high Hollow Grind on this blade will make this a slicing dream.
A beautiful example of an extremely talented Maker with an innovative design.
Previously owned, but never used, carried or sharpened.
There is one very tiny mark on the reverse side of the blade (too small to photograph) that keeps this knife from being MINT. Scott’s current Price would be $1,100 with a mutli year wait, so this knife is priced accordingly.
