Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a Direct Dealer for Mark Nevling of Burr Oak knives
Direct from the Maker at the 2014 Blade Show!
This particular knife is one of Mark’s larger Tactical Folders – a beefy ergonomic model called the First Responder – with some amazing upgrades from the standard model.
The handles are Hand Made layered Blue G-10 and Carbon Fiber, these are milled to fit precisely to the Zombie Mosaic Damascus bolsters.
The blade was hand forged by Mark and is made of a San Mai of 416 Stainless with a 52100 High Carbon Damascus core. This is an extremely labor intensive method to create this steel (it must be completed in a Zero Oxygen Forging environment in order for the San Mai to hold) it provides an amazingly strong blade with a Core that will take and hold a Razor edge. The Differential Heat Treat and Etch clearly shows the Hamon between the two steels. Superbly smooth action on this knife!!
Mark has taken the extra step of adding some incredible Filework to the entire Anodized Titanium Frame
As well as matching Filework to the 52100 Backspacer and the Integral Thumb Ramp. The thick Titanium Liner has Blue Anodizing
Super Smooth action and the blade locks up early and tight!
The thick Ti clip has also been Anodized.
Complete with COA and Birthdate
This is an excellent value for such a tough hand made yet attractive knife.
