Hiroaki Ohta has been hand crafting knives since 1989 and began making Full Time in 1998.  His folding knives are prized the world over for their precision and beauty.  Hiroaki Ohta’s knives have been featured in the KNIVES Annuals and appeared in BLADE magazine last year.

Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer for Hiroaki Ohta hand made knives

Direct from the Maker from the East Coast Custom Knife Show 2013

This is a Large Custom Slipjoint by Hiroaki in collaboration with Shosui Takeda ~ it has a hand contoured Desert Ironwood handles and a very special Blade steel.

Buttery smooth action, and perfect lock up. Hiroaki makes the handles of his knives slim so they fit in the hand very comfortably.

This is one of a very few knives that Hiroaki has collaborated with Master Takeda and used Takeda’s Hand Forged Aogami Super Steel  for his blade!  Takeda creates this steel by making a San Mai of Softer Stainless steel Laminated over a core of Aogami Super Blue Steel with an RC of 63-64.

A beautiful flowing Hamon shows the different steels. The knife has full Carbon Fiber liners, this allows for plenty of strength but still a very light weight.

The blade is perfectly centered and operates oh so smoothly, no play in any direction. Hiroaki has added some nice Custom Filework to the back of the Spring.

The Stabilized Desert Ironwood is extremely well matched and has a nice high polish to show off the natural Grain and rich Dark Color

Hiroaki makes his own Leather Pocket Sheaths for every knife, well stitched and holds the knife securely.

This is the actual knife you will receive, top shelf fit and finish, simple yet elegant.
