  Hiroaki Ohta has been hand crafting knives since 1989 and began making knives Full Time in 1998.  His folding knives are prized around the world over for their amazing precision and beauty.  Hiroaki Ohta’s knives have been featured in KNIVES Annuals and he appeared in BLADE magazine in 2011 as one of the hottest Slip Joint Makers.

 I was Hiroaki’s first customer at the Show and was lucky enough to hand pick from among his most beautiful pieces.  This is an amazing custom Wharncliff Pen Knife ~ the only one Hiroaki brought to the Show

This Custom knife has well-matched Presentation Grade Sambar Stag handle scales. 

 The Hand Rubbed blade has an extremely high Satin Finish, it was crafted from ATS-34 with an RC of 60-61.  It is perfectly centered and has a crisp smooth action and a firm Half Stop ~ the tension is just about perfect at 5.5 pull out of 10. 

Hiroaki contours the handles of his knives so they fit in the hand very comfortably. This is a small Slip Joint that will tackle any gentleman’s cutting chore and look great doing it! 

 The Nickel Silver Front Bolsters have been contoured and the Backspring and Frame are fitted together so precisely it appears they are one integral piece.  

Hiroaki makes his own Leather Pocket Sheaths for every knife, well stitched and holds the knife securely.

A wonderful knife, an great value in a hand made Slipjoint.
