  I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Knife Shows and Gun Shows, often to repeat Customers.  Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

  I hand picked this beautiful hunter from Herb’s Table, this is one of Herb’s Medium sized Hunters with a special 20,000 year old Woolly Mammoth Bone handle that is spectacular

  Herb’s High Carbon Damascus is over 2,500 layers thick.  The 20,000 year old Mammoth Bone has an amazing variety of natural colors due to the Minerals that the material absorbed over many Millenia while waiting to be discovered. 

The Bone is contoured into a comfortable Oval shape, it has Nickel Silver Spacers and a forward Stabilized Spalted Maple wood spacer for color.  

On this knife Herb has added Vine Filework on almost the entire length of the Spine which looks great but has a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement. 

  The Heavy Leather RH Belt sheath has an inlay of African Ostrich Leg Skin inlay with custom Tooling around the mouth of the sheath. Beautiful exotic materials in this entire package!
