Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

Here is a Massive Herb Derr Bullnose Skinner from Herb that has high contrast Sole Authorship Mosaic Damascus. This is a great looking knife knife with artistic attributes, but I guarantee it will perform as good as it looks.
Herb explained to me that his High Carbon Mosaic Steel Damascus Blades are Forged to have over 2,500 Layers. Herb has expertly Hand Forged this bold Mosaic Pattern, and it is repeated throughout the steel so it is similar on both sides.
This handle material was Thousands of Years in the making. This Fossilized Stellar Sea Cow Bone handle has rich color and beautiful natural grain. HERE is a link to some information on the extinct Stellar Sea Cow. The Handle material is flanked by Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Maple Burl spacer for color.
This Size Handle would best be suited for a Medium to Large Grip.
This Derr Bullnose Skinner has some unique Filework on the Spine, this would do double duty as Thumb Ridges if you choke up on the blade.
This is a truly great piece from Herb and it would be among the best of any Derr or Damascus Collection.
The Heavy Leather RH Belt sheath has a Boa Skin inlay along with Custom Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
