Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

Here is a Herb Derr Cascade Clip Point Hunter that has his high contrast Sole Authorship Birds Eye Damascus. This is a great looking knife with artistic attributes, but I guarantee it will perform as good as it looks.
Herb explained that his high contrast Birds Eye Carbon Damascus blades have over 2,500 layers. Herb has expertly Forged this bold Birdseye Pattern, and it is repeated throughout the steel so it is similar on both sides.
The Incredible Sambar Stag handle on this Derr Cascade Clip Point Hunter is truly remarkable. Since the embargo against the Import of Sambar Stag over a decade ago, Stag of this quality is impossible to find. Note the Incredible natural Color and Gnarly Grain. The Handle material is flanked by Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Maple Burl spacer for color.
On this Derr Cascade Clip Point, Herb has also added some Vine Filework on almost the entire length of the Spine which looks great but serves a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement.
This size handle would best be suited for a Medium to Large Grip.
The Heavy Leather RH Leather Belt sheath has Boa Constrictor Skin as the inlay. Deep, snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
