This is an immaculate Custom Saddlehorn Trapper model Slip Joint hand crafted by Jim Dunlap. Shaped similar to a Saddle’s Horn, the Handle Design is meant to ride Deep in the Palm for extra Security.
This amazing example has Vintage Westinghouse Micarta Scales The Westinghouse scales are Custom Contoured and the overall knife is so Clean that you cannot feel any Seam from the Inlay, Pins or Bolsters.
Extremely Solid build yet it absolutely radiates Precision! The Hand Rubbed Blades have superb “Walk and Talk” and the Half Stop on both blades are very secure.
Extremely smooth with just the Right Amount of Tension on the Back Springs (about a 6 in a range from 1-10).
Both Blades on this Dunlap Saddlehorn have a Labor Intensive Hand Rubbed Satin Finish and a very High Hollow Grind with a Custom Swedge. This knife is smooth and tough at the same time. A very affordable Custom Slip Joint that bridges the gap between Traditional and Modern!
