I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer. In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.
The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Johann van Deventer. His work has been featured in SA magazines devoted to Hunting but recently he has also worked hard at making folding knives of various kinds.

Here is one of JD’s more uncommon Tactical Fixed Blades, a Slim Stout Back up Blade that would easily be a great Camp or Field knife.
This quality knife will appeal to anyone who is looking for a Full Tang knife for Backpacking, Camp chores or just a tough EDC.
The blade was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm N690 Stainless steel. ThisIt was given a Dark Acid etch and then a very durable Stonewashed finish. N690 is an Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free.
The Full Grip handle has Custom Layered G-10 handles with Deep Sculpting ridges for added Traction.
