Aleksandr Afonchenko is a Custom maker from the Ukraine. Known for his EDC, Bushcraft and Hunting designs as well as his attention to detail, this example of his work showcases his talent.
This is Aleksandr’s popular Hi Tech Puukko – a knife that blends Traditional and Modern.
The profile of this knife is immediately recognizable to any student of blade History, this is of course an updated rendition of the Finnish / Scandinavian Puukko.
The Hand Ground blade was crafted from High End Crucible Particle Metallurgy CPM 3V steel and given a Cryogenic Quench. This steel has properties that make it unique among modern steels; it excels at Toughness and is widely known as a Superior Performer. It has a good amount of Carbon and a Higher Chromium and Vanadium content which puts it at the top of the Stainless Category.
The Blade has a Acid & Stonewashed Finish with a Near Full Height Flat Grind and a Hollow Ground Full Length Swedge.
The Handle was crafted from a Single Piece of Thick OD Green Canvas Micarta. Given a Custom Oval Hand Filling Shape, easily indexed due to the smaller area on the bottom and a Thicker grip on the Top.
The Handle also incorporates a Bow Drill Socket for Survival Fire Craft
This style of knife has been the preferred choice of Hunters and Bushcrafters for generations. Aleksandr does excellent work and once this knife is Sold it will be several months before I can get another.
Included is a FREE Paracord Lanyard w/Matching Micarta Bead
The knife comes with a Secure, Custom Molded OD Green Kydex sheath ~ with a Large Tek-Lok already Attached
A true top shelf package ~ includes a Hand Signed COA ~ as well as a Wooden Presentation Box
This knife is previously owned, but never used, carried or sharpened.
