This knife is one of less than 10 Models that Dan made with Takefu San Mai Steel
Here is an immaculate Tactical Model loosely based on the iconic Loveless New York Special ~ the Talon
This Dan Crotts Talon has a crisp Tactical Dagger shaped blade ~ Hand Crafted from Takefu’s Forged Shiro2 San Mai steel. During forging, Takefu utilizes a proprietary DPS (Depletion Prevention System) which adds a thin layer of Nickel between the Carbon Steel Core steel and the Stainless Cladding. The Nickel acts as a Barrier to stop carbon migration between the Carbon core and Stainless outer layers. The addition of Cr (Chromium) and Ni (Nickel) also ensures microstructural grain refinement.
Incredible, Dyed Spalted Maple handle scales secured with a Copper Blind Bolt and Lined Lanyard hole. This Stabilized Wood has such incredible Grain and Color, it could easily be mistaken for Mammoth Ivory
This is a Tough, Full Tang knife with wonderful handle to blade ratio, Dual Integral Guards and a Spalted Maple handle that is generous in length and fills the palm.
This Dan Crotts Talon would make the Tactical EDC ~ able to handle any Daily cutting chore as well as doing double duty as a discreet back up blade! The Top edge is Not Sharpened, but Very easily could be.
