Here is a gorgeous Custom Filet that I ordered from Dan several Months ago ~ this example has a Rare Full Height Flat Ground Blade
This Crotts Custom Filet features D2 steel that is 1/8″ thick and features a Full Height Flat Grind, this one also seems to have a Higher Finish than most of Dan’s other knives. It has just a slight bit of Flexibility to the blade.
Dan uses the World Renowned Heat Treat formula as his mentor ~ Bob Dozier which leaves this blade at a Respectable 61Rc
This is a Full Tang Hunter with a Custom contoured handle, slightly thicker in the middle and Tapered at the Front and Back.
This Ergonomic Handle has a Deep Forward Finger Groove and a Birds Beak butt. It comfortably fills the palm but it is not too wide. In my opinion, this handle shape is the Second Most Comfortable that I have ever held.
The blade has just enough flex to get in the tight spots and I am sure this knife will cut like a laser! Would be great as a Boning Knife, Filet Knife or a Custom BBQ Blade!
Hair shaving sharp (as expected) and comes in a tight RH Vertical Kydex Belt Sheath.
The backside of the sheath was made by Dan with a coordinating color and a Custom Belt Loop molded into the Kydex.
