Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a Decade Dealer for Bob Dozier
~ Direct from the Maker ~
For more than 40 years, Bob has continued to try to improve on his work. This knife represents one of those evolutions. This is Bob’s Sole Authorship Sisu Model which has a unique, hidden feature.
This knife adds all the features of Bob’s upscale Classic line with a timeless blade shape.
The special Blade Steel on this knife is just shy of 3/16″ thick ~ it is a Rare San-Mai or Laminated Blade with a Dozier D2 Core and a 410 Stainless Exterior Forged together. This provides superior Stain Resistance with Dozier’s Legendary D2 Cutting Ability. When inspected closely in the correct light, you can see the Lamination Line of the two blade steels.
The Hidden Tang is a full one-half inch wide and is completely heat-treated to gain the maximum properties that can be had from the steel. A rectangular slot is machined in the handle to perfectly fit the tang. This eliminates the need to fill up the extra space with epoxy. Then just the necessary amount of epoxy, along with a brass nut secure the handle for a lifetime of hard use.
This example has a Beautiful Stacked Leather handle with Ancient Ivory Micarta flanking the leather.
The Custom Contoured Ancient Ivory Micarta is flanked by Brass Spacers and Red Liners.
The Brass Guard is Silver Soldered so no moisture has access to the insideof the handle (this is a difficult process and most Makers do not even attempt this step any longer).
The blade is a little over 1″ Wide with plenty of Cutting Edge. With an extremely comfortable handle and Classic design, this knife would provide a life time of High Level Performance.
This knife comes with a Custom Wet Molded, Shoulder Hide Leather Right Hand Sheath also crafted solely by Bob. Bob spent a week with Bob Loveless focusing only on Sheath Making – the knife locks into the Sheath and cannot even be shaken out if turned upside down!
A very limited number of Dozier Sisu Models have ever been made.
