Here is a very special Custom Classic from Bob’s "Classic" line.
This line is for those that want a traditional Guard on their knives but also want the best materials for hard work.
The hidden tang is one-half inch wide and is completely heat-treated to gain the maximum properties that can be had from the steel. A rectangular slot is machined in the handle to perfectly fit the tang. This eliminates the need to fill up the extra space with epoxy. Then just the necessary amount of epoxy, along with a brass nut secure the handle for a lifetime of hard use. The Guard is soldered so no moisture has access to inside the handle.
Beauitful Grain to the Cocobolo center of the handle and the Mozambique Ebony and Micarta Spacers really enhance the look. Very nice contouring and just a wonderful and comfortable handle.
Complete with a unique RH Leather sheath. Note the Metal alloy rocker arm near the back welt of the Sheath. This moves forward when the knife is being placed back into the sheath, or the pinky of the right hand also gently pulls it easily forward for knife extraction.
When the knife is inside the sheath the end of the rocker arm locks behind the Guard making it impossible for the knife to fall out.
I understand this was an AG Russell innovation and the Sheath most likely came from his Shop. Very nice!
