Aleksandr Afonchenko is a young maker from the Ukraine. Known for his EDC, Bushcraft and Hunting designs as well as his attention to detail, this example of his work showcases his talent.
This is Aleksandr’s New Mini Hunter – a knife that is Classic in Style and appearance. The Blade has a Custom Two Tone Finish with a Belt Sanded Bevel, a Near Full Height Hollow Grind and Orange Peeled Flats.
The Hand Ground blade was crafted from Bohler N690 Co steel and given a Cryogenic Quench. N690 Co steel is a Cobalt enriched steel perfect for Outdoor knives ~ it has a very high Carbon content and the added Cobalt makes blades that can withstand stress – it excels at Toughness and is widely known as a Superior Performer.
This is a Tough, Full Tang knife ~ the Tang and Spine are Mirror Polished. The Handle scales are Gorgeous Aged Himalayan Sheephorn with Gnarly Exterior and Custom Red Liners ~ they have a Full Hand Filling Shape, best for a Medium to Large Grip.
This style of knife has been the preferred choice of Hunters and Bushcrafters for generations. Aleksandr does excellent work and once this knife is Sold it will be several months before I can get another.
