~ Just Received – Direct from the Maker ~
It has been more than a Year since I have featured any of Alexandr’s knives. This is a new design by Aleksandr – a Dwarf Hi Tech Puukko – a knife that blends Traditional and Modern
The profile of this knife is immediately recognizable to any student of blade History, this is of course an updated version of the Finnish / Scandinavian Puukko. The Tang on this Afonchenko Puukko is Dovetailed (top and bottom) into the Bolster.
The Hand Ground blade was crafted from N690 Co steel and given a Cryogenic Quench. This steel has properties that make it unique among modern steels; it is high in Carbon, Chromium, and Molybdenum. This combination offers a great balance between hardness and toughness. The Blade on this Afonchenko Puukko has an Stone Washed Finish with a Near Full Height Flat Grind and a Hollow Ground Full Length Swedge.
The unique Handle also incorporates a Bow Drill Socket on the side for Survival Fire Craft
The Handle on this Afonchenko Dwarf Hi Tech Puukko was crafted from an Integral Piece of Micarta. Given a Custom Oval Hand Filling Shape, easily indexed due to the smaller area on the bottom and a Thicker grip on the Top.
This style of knife has been the preferred choice of Hunters and Bushcrafters for generations.
This Afonchenko Dwarf Hi Tech Puukko comes with a Secure, Custom Molded Black Kydex sheath ~ with a Pull the Dot Rubber Belt Loop and Multiple Holes around the perimeter for a variety of carry options.
A true top shelf package ~ includes a Hand Signed COA, Magnet and stickers.
