  I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Gun & Knife Shows, most often to repeat Customers.  Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

  Here is a Perfect EDC sized Drop Point Hunter from Herb that has his high contrast Sole Authorship Random Damascus. Herb makes VERY FEW Stubbys.  

 This is a great looking knife with artistic attributes, but I guarantee it will perform as good as it looks.  

 Herb explained that his high contrast Random Carbon Damascus blades have over 2,500 layers. 

The knife has a comfortable Full Grip handle of 20,000 Year Old Fossilized Woolly Mammoth Bone Handle with Beautiful Natural Deposits 

 On this knife Herb has also added some Vine Filework on almost the entire length of the Spine which looks great but serves a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement. 

The handle is flanked by Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Spalted Maple forward spacer which adds a dash of contrast to the handle.

 In the Fossilized Handle you can see the Natural deposits and gnarly character of the Bone as the Fossilization took place.

The Heavy Leather RH Leather Belt sheath has a Lizard Skin as the inlay. 

Herb also added some Custom Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Deep, snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
