I love history, I am extremely fond of knives that are made to resemble the tools that Pioneers and Early Americans relied on for every day survival. This genre of knife making takes alot of research and skill with various materials to accomplish successfully and I am always excited to see a Knife Makers’ work who has gotten it just right!
I want to introduce to you Ted Taylor. Ted has been crafting knives for several years and makes everything from Bowies and Fighters to everday working knives, but in my opinion Ted does the Period style especially well. I just received several knives from Ted and I know you will really enjoy seeing his work.
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a Direct Dealer for Ted Taylor
Brand New ~ Just Received from the Maker
William Scagel is considered to be THE Founding Father of Custom Knife making in the US and hated straight lines on his knives.
This is Ted’s Scagel Sticker replica, as true to the Original as any being made today
The handle is a Special creation like Mr Scagel would have made, a Polished Bone Spacer in the Front with Stacked Leather center and an Aged Elk Antler Butt.
This is a Custom Contoured, Full Grip handle that is very comfortable and has an authentic look.
Ted used the Natural Curve of the Antler and then contoured the Handle to have a Full Center and Taperd front.
The O-1 Carbon Steel blade has been Differentially Heat Treated, it has a Full Height Convex Grind
Ted has given the Blade an aged Patina that really adds an authentic, Vintage appearance.
The beautiful Sheath was also made by Ted, a wonderful Right Hand Leather Belt sheath with Thick Wrap Around Belt and Conch.
This is the second group of special knives I have received from Ted, I sold the first ones very quickly ~ Ted really captures the true Frontier flavor with his work.
