Shosui Takeda Blacksmith

Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda

~ Direct from the Maker ~

I have admired Takedas knives for many years.  Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi Japan in 1951 to produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS). Forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

Master Takeda’s Backlog of Orders is now 2 Years plus ~ This is a Rare Hand Forged Axe that I have NEVER featured on my website before

Master Takeda hand forged this Classic Small Forest Axe from his famous Aogami Super Steel and passed the completed blade to a respected Handle Maker, this is the traditional way fine Japanese Swords were created for centuries, one master for each craft.

Takeda’s Hand Forged TeOno Axe is meant to be used to cut Branches off Trees and create Kindling for Fires.

The American Oak handle is 23″ Long ~ generous in size and has a Custom Flattened neck for Comfortable close up work.

A very special piece from this World Renowned Master

Takeda’s Signature is hand stamped into the blade. Expert Differential Heat Treat and the beautiful Lamination Line in the Steel (showing the Hardness gradient of the Sharp Super Steel Edge) is clearly visible on the blade.

The blade is hand sharpened on increasing grits of Natural Japanese Waterstones.

The Rear of the Axe head has a Hammer Poll area Ithat could be used for Light Duty hammering ~ such as Tent Stakes, etc.

The Handle is easily replacable by removing the Metal Shim inserted against the Head.

This Axe will stand as a legacy to the Skill of this Master Craftsman for generations.

With a normal Retail of $600 ~ This is an exceptional value for one of Takeda’s more Rare items.
