Shosui Takeda Blacksmith
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda
Direct from the Maker from the BLADE Show 2015
I have admired Shosui Takedas knives for many years. The Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951. They produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hunting knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS), which has added Vanadium. The blades are marked with “AS” and Takeda’s Signature, all forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.
A new model of a traditional Japanese working knife that Takeda introduced last year. This knife is an Integral that was hand forged by Master Takeda with a San Mai Center of his new Stainless Clad Aogami Super Steel.

The Woven Cord / Laquer Wrap handle is sealed with a Waterproof Resin. Takeda explained to me that this type of handle takes many days to set once the Laquer is applied.

This Full Tang knife has a handle that is just wide enough to fill the palm and the Cord makes it very secure without being abrasive.

Takeda’s Signature is hand stamped into every blade along with the NEW NAS for Stainless Clad Aogami Super Steel designation.

The Hamon is clearly visible and the blade is hand sharpened on increasing grits of Japanese Waterstones by Takeda to a laser sharp edge.

This knife comes complete with a thick, Hand Stitched Leather Belt Sheath set for RH carry.

This knife will appeal to anyone who values true hand made tools with a rich history.
I have only one!!
