I have admired Shosui Takedas knives for many years. The Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951. They produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hunting knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS), which has added Vanadium. The blades are marked with “AS” and Takeda’s Signature, all forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

This is one of only a few new Linerlock models that Takeda brought to the Blade Show. This is an absolutely beautiful Gentleman’s Folder design from Master Takeda.
Master Takeda hand forged the Stainless Clad Aogami Super Steel blade and left the Forge scale on in the traditional Kuro-uchi style finish. The San Mai / Lamination Line is visible evidence of the Harder Cutting Edge of the Blade against the Stainless Cladding.
Takeda’s small script Signature is hand stamped into every blade along with the NAS for NEW Stainless Aogami Super Steel designation on the back side of this blade. The blade is easily opened using the right hand thumb stud.
This is Liner Lock with a Very Secure Lock up.
Lightweight Titanium Liners and Stand offs. This knife will appeal to anyone who values true hand made tools.
The Blade was Hand Sharpened on increasing grits of natural Japanese Waterstones by Takeda to a laser sharp edge.
