Shosui Takeda Blacksmith
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda
Direct from the Maker from the Blade Show 2014
I have admired Shosui Takedas knives for many years. The Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951. They produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hunting knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS), which has added Vanadium. The blades are marked with “AS” and Takeda’s Signature, all forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

This is an absolutely gorgeous Gentlemans Friction Folder
Master Takeda hand forged the blade for this from his NEW Stainless Clad Aogami Super Steel blade ~ he left the Heat Treat Scale on the exterior to create a Kuro-uchi style finish.
The Blade is Opened using the hardened extended Stick Tang.

The Gorgeous Curly Maple has beautiful range of colors ~ lots of Deep Blue and some Gold accents. The Frame and Backspacer are thick Titanium.
Takeda’s small script Signature is hand stamped into every blade along with the New AAS for “Stainless Clad Aogami Super Steel” designation. The Lamination Line is clearly visible and the blade was hand sharpened on increasing grits of natural Japanese Waterstones by Takeda to a laser sharp edge.
The blade on this one barely rubs the Liner when closing, Takeda said this would not effect the use of the knife and chose not to rework the blade. Priced Accordingly.
Complete with a Hand Sewn Leather Pouch style Sheath. This knife will appeal to anyone who values true hand made tools with a rich history.
A great traditional knife. No Returns due to the Rub.
