The Carothers DEK1 is designed to have a balance point between the first two fingers and it’s Primary Purpose is a versatile EDC / Woods blade. The Special Ordered AEBL Blade is .165 Thick ~ a Uniform Stonewashed finish and a Comfortable Thumb Ramp on the Spine.
The Natural Canvas Handle Scales have Deep Contouring and a Stippled surface for maximum grip comfort and safety. The Handle specifically Locks into your grip in the natural position with the Forward Thumb Ramp and the Rear Traction Ridges on the Spine chamfered for comfort. Will not shift around with vigorous use.
However, should you need to hold the knife in the Reverse grip, the Thumb automatically extends over the butt and the Moderate Jimping assures a very solid reliable grip. Also, Nathan also has added a “Hidden Lanyard” pocket inside the Rear of the handle.
This Carothers DEK1 is a stout knife with an excellent design. The excellent ergonomics of the handle make this knife a joy to hold. This is a knife that will handle any daily cutting chore or Wilderness Bushcraft Task with ease.
The knife comes with a Custom Molded Kydex Belt Sheath with an UltiClip already installed!
