 I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer.  In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.  

The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Kosie Steenkamp.  

Kosie is one of the most personable SA Makers I have met, he is a stickler for detail and strives for perfection. He has a passion for the craft that he exhibits in every knife he makes.

Here is another Full Size Hunter from Kosie. I chose this one for the  impeccable fit and finish ~ an exemplary value.  

 The design is sleek and extremely ergonomic – the spine follows an arched line that will increase the power of cut due to its geometry. The generous sized handle on this gorgeous knife is Stabilized African Blackwood that contains some beautiful grain and character when viewed up close.  The Bolster is South African Boar Warthog Tusk, it has the rich creamy color and natural veins that makes a quality Ivory.  Black and Ivory colored Liners under the Handle and Bolster material – Precision fit and finish all the way around.

The blade was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm Nc690 Stainless steel.  It has a very high Hollow Grind, a Distal Taper, fine point and is Razor Sharp!  The Nc690 steel is quickly gaining popularity with American Makers, it is a very clean Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free, it has an extremely clean Satin finish will allow the knife to be used and still look great.     

Kosie added some nice Rope Filework on the Spine that doubles as Thumb Ridges, very comfortable. 

Provided with a thick Right Hand Leather Belt Sheath, the knife fits deep and securely, no chance of the knife accidentally falling out.
