JD van Deventer
I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer. In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.
The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Johann van Deventer. His work has been featured in SA magazines devoted to Hunting but recently he has also worked hard at making folding knives of various kinds.
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a Dealer for Johann van Deventer

I hand picked this beauty from JD’s table, it is a Masterful copy of the famous Bob Loveless Utility Drop Point design ~ I feel that this is an exemplary value with wonderful fit and finish.
The Arizona Desert Ironwood handle is a rich Brown with a dark Grain and gorgeously finished. JD gave every surface of this knfie a beautiful polish ~ the handle is shaped to a very comfortable hand filling design. The scales each have a Custom Flattened area toward the Guard which makes them more ergonomic.
The Razor Sharp Drop Point blade was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm N690 Stainless steel and has a wonderful Mirror Polished surface. N690 steel is a very clean Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free.
Thin Yellow & Black Liners help to accent the dark natural beauty of the Ironwood. The Tapered Tang and great shape and size of the handle allows for a full, comfortable grip.
Provided with a thick Right Hand Leather Belt Sheath.
Complete with a Color Certificate of Authenticity, signed by the Maker.
A quality package direct from the Maker.
