At the turn of the century good metal, especially a good knife, was a precious commodity. And even more rare was the occasion a man was Lucky enough to own an Embellished Gun or Knife. This Sole Authorship Hand Forged Hunting Knife from Steve Nuckels harkens back to that time and this piece reflects that early American Design and flavor.  

 Steve chose the Brut de Forge approach for this unique Belt Knife.  This is an One Piece Integral – Full Tang knife that was Forged to Shape and the Guard gently contoured for an Extremely Comfortable and Secure Grip. Subtle Copper Liners under the handle match the Copper Pins. 

Hand Crafted from 1095 High Carbon steel has been Differentially Heat Treated – Steve left the Forged Flats intact and gave the Bevel a Labor Intensive Hand Rubbed finish to adequately show the beautiful Hamon.   

The handle on this Steve Nuckels Brut de Forge is a fine piece of a cured Curly Maple, it is Rich Dark and Light brown hues with wonderful Chatoyance when rotated back and forth.  But what really catches the eye is the Vintage Silver Wire Inlay and Copper Pines on the handle. 

A Late Distal Taper at the tip will allow for Finer Cutting work. Steve really captures the true Hand Made flavor with his work.  A very comfortable and secure feel when holding the knife.

The fine quality Leather Belt Sheath was also made by Mr. Nuckels.
