Shosui Takeda Blacksmith
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda.

I have admired Shosui Takedas knives for many years. The Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951. They produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hunting knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS), which has added Vanadium. The blades are marked with "AS" and Takeda’s Signature, all forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.
This is an absolutely beautiful Collaboration Stag Gentleman’s knife from Master Takeda and Kansei Matsuno
Master Takeda hand forged the Aogami Super Steel blade and left the Forge scale on in the traditional Kuro-uchi style finish. The clear Hamon is visible evidence of the expert Differential Heat Treat and traditional Clay Quench method that have been used on Japanese swords for centuries.
Takeda passed this blade to world reknowned Custom Folding knife Maker Kensei Matsuno who completed the hand work required to create the handle, Frame and lock.
Opened using the RH Thumbstud, this knife has extremely smooth action, the Stag has been contoured to match the thumb relief area. Excellent early, very secure lock up.
Takeda’s small script Signature is hand stamped into every blade along with the AS for Aogami Super Steel designation. The Hamon is clearly visible and the blade hand sharpened on increasing grits of natural Japanese Waterstones by Takeda to a laser sharp edge. A traditional Hand Beaded zipper pouch is included.
This knife will appeal to anyone who values true hand made tools with a rich history.
An incredible value for a smooth, beautiful Gentlemans pocket knife of this quality.
