This is a Rare Bob Dozier / Integrated Survival System Bushcraft
In 2020 Matt Tate came to Bob Dozier to have a Limited Run of 12 knives made for his Integrated Survival Systems. Among other things, Integrated Survival Systems teaches life-saving survival woods techniques. You may have seen Matt compete on Discovery Channel’s Bushcraft Build-off, but his love of survival started as young kid growing up in a Cherokee community where the old ways of hunting, fishing and bushcraft of the Native American culture are still cherished.
Matt’s survival experience is matched by his tactical experience; serving as an Army Engineer in Fallujah, Matt encountered heavy combat. He then went on to serve with the Oklahoma Military Dept, Employment Security Commission and the Executive Branch of the US Govt.
Never intended to be sold to the public ~ this is the Serial Number 5 of that Limited Edition series of knives that were Hand Crafted by Bob Dozier.
The handle is comfortably contoured, certainly Large enough to allow for some Chopping power or comfortable wearing gloves. The Polished Canvas Micarta has amazing Grain and color. Fully Contoured to completely fill your grip.
This Dozier / ISS Survival Bushcraft has a Full Tang with a slightly Thicker PD-1 Blade (.215) than most all other Dozier models. The handle has a built in if you have only read about it, you need to experience a True Razor Sharp Scandi grind like this one.
Another Rare Feature of this knife is the Metal Lined – Bow Drill Socket in the handle as well as the Squared Off Shoulders of the Spine for use with the Included Ferro Fire Rod.
The handle of this unique Dozier Survival Bushcraft has an Extended Squared Off Butt which would make for a Hammer Poll or similar (a feature that I have never seen on any other Dozier).
This Dozier Survival Bushcraft is hair shaving sharp (as expected) and with the Bob Dozier doing the Heat Treatment you KNOW this knife will perform! Weighing in at almost 12 Ounces for the knife and 1lb 6 Ounces for the entire kit.
Complete in a Dozier Custom Survival Kydex Belt Sheath with Tek Lock and ferrocerium fire rod attached.
