I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer. In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.
The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Kosie Steenkamp.
Kosie is one of the most personable SA Makers I have met, he is a stickler for detail and strives for perfection. He has a passion for the craft that he exhibits in every knife he makes.

This model from Kosie is very popular, this one took a few months to finish but I know you will agree it was definitely worth the wait! Impeccable fit and finish ~ an exemplary value.
The design is sleek and extremely ergonomic – the spine follows an arched line that will increase the power of cut due to its geometry. The handle on this gorgeous knife is Stabilized Maple Burl that has dark natural grain with Satin Finished Stainless Bolsters. A very comfortable and filling design with a generous handle.
Kosie added some nice Rope Filework on the Spine that doubles as Thumb Ridges, very comfortable.
Thin Black & White Liners help to accent the dark natural beauty of the Wood Handle Scales.
The blade of this big hunter was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm N690 Stainless steel. It has a very high Hollow Grind, a Distal Taper, fine point and is Razor Sharp! Kosie took the time to also give this blade an immaculate Hand Rubbed Finish!
The Nc690 steel quickly gaining popularity with American Makers, it is a very clean Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free, it has an extremely clean Satin finish will allow the knife to be used and still look great.
The shape and size of the handle allows for a secure grip, the Bird’s Beak handle design help keep the handle in your palm.
Provided with a thick Right Hand Leather Belt Sheath, the knife fits deep and securely, no chance of the knife accidentally falling out.
