Of all the knives that I purchased from Herb at the Show this one has the most intricate Bird’s Eye Damascus Pattern of them all ~ the etch is deep and shows the incredible pattern perfectly.
Herb’s Bird’s Eye Damascus has over 2,500 layers. With a Straight Spine and Upswept Tip this great looking knife will perform as good as it looks.
It has a unique Fileworked spine that also doubles as Thumb Ridges.
The handle is made from Fossilized Sea Cow Rib bone. Herb has worked with the natural shape of the Fossil to narrow the handle near the Finger Guard but leave it plenty thick at the butt, very hand filling and comfortable. The Rib Bone has beautiful natural colors and intricate grain.
The Rib Bone handle is flanked by a Nickel Silver Spacer and a gorgeous Stabilized Spalted Maple spacer for color.
One of the things that sets this knife apart is the generous Full Grip handle that has beautiful natural color variation.
The Leather sheath has an Australian Cane Toad Skin inlay and Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. The Cane Toad is an introduced species that has devastated wildlife in Australia ~ HERE is a Link to learn more about them. The Sheath has a nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
