This is a very special Friction Folder hand made by Hiroaki Ohta with High Grade Materials.
A Friction Folder is the oldest of folding knife designs, ancient Friction Folders have recently been discovered in Rome where they were a standard item for men of wealth and privilege!
The blade on this Ohta Friction Folder was hand ground by Hiroaki from Stainless Raindrop Damascus and then given a unique Dark Etch which still shows the Subtle Layers.
To Open a Friction Folder you just need to pull back on the Exposed Tongue extended off the back of the blade. The pivot is set so that the blade will not fall open by itself. It has a very smooth action and a well-centered blade. When opened, the Tongue is recessed into the handle.
A full size Lightning Strike, Red & Black Carbon Fiber Handle on this Ohta Friction Folder keeps the knife light while allowing for a Full, Secure, comfortable grip.
This Light Weight example by Hiroaki has Layered Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber handles as well as a Full Carbon Fiber Backspacer.
Hiroaki makes his own Leather Pocket Sheaths for every knife, this sheath also has a Custom Molded Kydex Liner to securely hold the knife, well stitched and holds the knife tightly even when upside down.
The Knife comes complete with plenty of Paracord for Neck wear and a Hand Made Wooden Cinch that Slides up and Down on the cord to adjust the length of the Cord.
A wonderful knife that will appeal to anyone who wants a 21st Century creation in a Traditional Design.
