I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer. In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.
The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Willem Steenkamp.
Willem is one of the most personable SA Makers I have met, he is a stickler for detail and strives for perfection. He has a passion for the craft that he exhibits in every knife he makes.

I hand picked this beauty from Willem’s table, it is a masterful copy of the exact Model that Bob Loveless designed ~ I feel that this is an exemplary value with wonderful fit and finish.
The design is robust enough for any outdoor chore and indeed that is what it was designed for, a very comfortable hand filling design.
The blade of this big hunter was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm Nc690 Stainless steel. It has a Full Height Hollow Grind, a Distal Taper, fine point and is Razor Sharp!
The N690 steel is quickly gaining popularity with American Makers, it is a very clean Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free.
This knife has an impeccable Mirror Polish on all surfaces. A very comfortable handle with palm swell and Thin Red Liners help to accent the color of the Traditional Green Micarta handle scales. The shape and size of the handle allows for a comfortable, secure grip.
Provided with a thick, extremely well finished Right Hand Leather Belt Sheath, the knife fits deep and securely, no chance of the knife accidentally falling out.
