 I was very fortunate to begin working with several South African Knife Makers many years ago, I am continually impressed with the Quality of their knives and the value they offer.  In my journey as a knife dealer several SA Makers have introduced me to other SA Makers and the list of quality knives that I sell from that country continues to grow.  

The newest addition to my website is South African Knife Makers Guild member Willem Steenkamp.  

Willem is one of the most personable SA Makers I have met, he is a stickler for detail and strives for perfection. He has a passion for the craft that he exhibits in every knife he makes.

This is a beautiful example of Willem’s talent and his desire to recreate the legendary blades of Bob Loveless. This is a Direct Copy from one of Bob’s classic design, I feel that this is an exemplary value with absolutely wonderful fit and finish. 

Please excuse the unusual angles of the photographs, this knife has such an amazing Mirror Polish I found it extremely hard to photograph without shadow or reflection.

The blade of this classic has an incredibly crisp False Edge (Not Sharpened) and was hand ground from Bohler Uddeholm N690 Stainless steel.  It has a near Fperfect Mirror Polish , a fine point and is Razor Sharp!  The blade is Silver Soldered to the Guard and it is very well done! 

The N690 steel is quickly gaining popularity with American Makers, it is a very clean Austrian steel with a nice amount of Chromium to make it nearly maintenance free. 

This knife has an extremely Comfortable Handle ~ it has a Deeply Tapered Tang and Custom Red Liners. 

The Handle scales are Secured with Corby Bolts just like the older Loveless knives.  The scales are beautiful Stabilized Cocobolo with wonderful Grain and are matched very well.

The shape and size of the handle allows for a comfortable, secure grip. 

 Provided with a thick, extremely well finished Right Hand Leather Belt Sheath, the knife fits deep and securely, no chance of the knife accidentally falling out.
