A Full time Knife Maker since 1997 and a Member of the South African Knifemakers Guild – Theuns crafts beautiful knives often using exotic and visually stunning materials. I am excited to be working with Theuns.

Just Received ~ Direct from the Maker at the New York Custom Knife Show 2012    

This is a beautiful example of Theuns work, a full size Linerlock with exotic materials – he and I discussed at length the intricate details of this knife and I have strived to show some of them (others will no doubt be discovered by the new owner).

The knife has striking Crosscut Mammoth Ivory Tusk handle scales cast in Stained resin and bonded onto SS Melamine.  The RH Thumbstud  has a copper inlay. The Bolsters are Stabilized dyed Giraffe Shinbone with a wonderful natural grain pattern.  The blade is Alabama Forge High Carbon Damascus washed in Copper to give it a very distinctive appearance.  The action is extremely smooth and the lock up is perfect! 

The frame is Full Anodized Titanium, Fileworked on the rear, Theuns has also Anodized the Titanium Backspacer in several colors and hand sculpted some of his distinctive Rock Art Bushman and Animal figures.  

The detail on these figures is amazing and the pictorals tell a story of South Africa and often show the Animals that the materials came from (a Giraffe is hidden on the inside and the Mammoth can be discovered somewhere else on the knfe).    

This is a knife I could photograph for hours and still not fully show all the custom features. I allowed the light to play more on this shot to show the striking color of the Copper wash on the Damascus blade.  

This is a precision Gentleman’s folder with very interesting materials. 

       This knife comes with an exotic Nauga Hyde Faux Leather pouch sheath.  Since being exploited to make everything from Jackets to Couches in the 1960 & 70’s the Nauga is now Endangered in many parts of the world.  

Also a Color Certificate of Authenticity which details all components is included.
