Shosui Takeda Blacksmith
Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda
~ Direct from the Maker from the Recent Blade Show 2018 ~
I have admired Takedas knives for many years. Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951 to produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS). The blades are marked with “NAS”, which indicates the New Aogami Super Steel Clad in Stainless.
All Takeda’s knives are forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

Master Takeda hand forged this Long Straight blade from his famous Aogami Super Steel and passed the completed blade to K. Moriya, this is the traditional way fine Japanese Swords were created for centuries, one master for each craft.
Moriya added the gorgeous, Single Piece Presentation Grade Dyed Buckeye Burl handle and the Nickel Silver Guard.
The handle is Large enough for a Secure, Full Grip. It has wonderful custom contouring ~ very comfortable.
This knife is amazing in quality ~ the Blade is slightly shy of 3/16″ Thick. The Blade has Takeda’s new NAS Stamp (which is a Stainless Clad Aogami Super Super Steel) along with his Signature in Kanji.
The blade is hand sharpened to razor like sharpness on increasing grits of Natural Japanese Waterstones. Easy to carry and guaranteed to cut like a laser.
Moriya also did an amazing job on the thick Custom Leather Belt sheath. Wet Molded to the knife, the knife locks into place when inserted into the sheath!
A very special collaboration knife from these two craftsmen.
This knife will stand as a legacy to the Skill of these Craftsman for generations.
This is an exceptional value for one of Takeda’s Forged Blades with a Custom Handle.
