Product Description

Shosui Takeda Blacksmith

Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda

~ Direct from the Maker ~

I have admired Takedas knives for many years.  Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951 to produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality Hitachi carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel ~ with a NEW Stainless Cladding (NAS). The blades are marked with “NAS”, forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

Direct from the Maker

Master Takeda hand forged this Classic Drop Point blade from his famous Aogami Super Steel and passed the completed blade to A. Moriya, this is the traditional way fine Japanese Swords were created for centuries, one master for each craft.

Moriya added the gorgeous, 20,000 Year Old Exterior Bask Wooly Mammoth Tusk handle scales and the Nickel Silver Guard. The handle size provides a Full Grip ~ generous in size and has wonderful custom contouring.

Takeda’s Signature is hand stamped into the blade, along with his New NAS for Aogami Super Steel CLAD in Stainless.  Expert Differential Heat Treat ~ the beautiful Lamination Line in the Steel (showing the Hardness gradient of the Razor Sharp Super Steel Edge) is clearly visible on the blade. The blade is hand sharpened to razor like sharpness on increasing grits of Natural Japanese Waterstones.

A very special collaboration knife from these two Master Craftsmen.

Moriya also did a great job on the thick Custom Leather Belt sheath.  It has a thick Welt and the Guard helps to secure the knife into place when inserted into the Sheath.

This knife will stand as a legacy to the Skill of these Craftsman for generations.

This is an exceptional value for one of Takeda’s Forged Blades with a Custom Stag Handle.
