Shosui Takeda Blacksmith

Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer with Shosui Takeda.

Direct from the Maker from the ECCKS 2013

I have admired Shosui Takedas knives for many years.  The Takeda Smithy was founded in 1920 and moved to Niimi in 1951. They produce hand-forged blades and tools such as kitchen knives, hunting knives, hoes, hatchets, etc. A third generation master blacksmith, Shosui Takeda specializes in hand forging blades from the highest quality carbon steel, Aogami Super Steel (AS), which has added Vanadium. The blades are marked with “AS” and Takeda’s Signature, all forged entirely by hand, as it has been done for generations. Each blade holds its edge extraordinarily well and resharpens easily.

This is an absolutely beautiful Mammoth Gentleman’s  Linerlock ~ a Collaboration knife from Master Takeda and Kansei Matsuno

Master Takeda hand forged the Aogami Super Steel blade and left the Forge scale on in the traditional Kuro-uchi style finish. The Lamination line is clearly visible showing the tough San Mai Steel that Takeda has created.

Takeda passed this blade to world reknowned Custom Folding knife Maker Kensei Matsuno who completed the hand work required for the precision fit of the 20,000 year old Mammoth handles.  These handles are the rarest of natural colors, the Blue color with exterior bark is the grade sought by every Collector.

Opened using the RH Thumbstud, this knife has buttery smooth action withexcellent secure lock up.  An Easy Access Cut Out in the Bolster allows for lock disengagement.

Takeda’s small script Signature is hand stamped into every blade along with the AS for Aogami Super Steel designation. The Hamon is clearly visible and the blade hand sharpened on increasing grits of natural Japanese Waterstones by Takeda to a laser sharp edge.

This knife is built on a full Polished Titanium Frame and is very precise all the way around.

This knife will appeal to anyone who values true hand made tools with a rich history.

An incredibly smooth, and beautiful Gentleman’s pocket knife.
