Once in a great while I get lucky, I get excited by a new knife I find or in this case ~ a brand new Maker.
John and I met over a year ago at the New York Custom Knife Show. He and started chatting and he mentioned he made knives and was working on his first designs. I asked to see them and when I did I was blown away! I immediately recognized that these knives were quality pieces that were going to explode onto the knife making scene!
During the last year he has been refining design and has recently completed the first Prototypes ~ I am very proud to introduce his work here on The Fort. We are going to see great things from this new Maker!

This is one of the continued T.H.U.C.K. Line of knives from John ~ making is debut at The Fort is a Massive Prototype of the largest model in this series so far ~ a G-VIII Proto called Big Blue
The thick Solid Titanium frame has been expertly contoured for a wonderfully ergonomic full grip. All edges have been chamferred and given a subtle pebbled finish for a smooth comfortable feel.
The Thumb access is perfectly aligned to allow easy opening using either of the Dual thumbstuds. Extremely smooth opening.
The CTS-XHP blade has a super touch Full Height Flat Grind! The blade also has a Labor Intensive Hand Rubbed Finish.
The design of this knife has hard use in mind, the Angle of the blade edge in relation to handle is meant to provide plenty of Finger/Hand clearance when using the long cutting edge. The Integral Full Finger Choil / Finger Guard area allows for comfortable close up work.
The most striking feature of the knife (besides the size) is the beautiful texture and custom Two Tone Anodizing of the Titanium Frame. A custom Electric Discharge custom pattern that is very “striking”.
The thick Frame of this knife provides one of the strongest locks I have seen!
The Oversized Pivot provides greater strength to the design but also serves as the Lock Bar Stop preventing stress on the Frame Lock from being pushed too far when disengaging.
John marks his knives discreetly on the Spine of the blade so as not to mar the asthetics of the design.
The Thick Matching Titanium Clip is set for tip up carry.
I will say again that I am very pleased to be getting in on the ground floor of John’s knife making Career.
Some Makers look at their early work and cringe, as you can see John has started out setting the bar very high for himself ~ even then I know he will continue to improve!
