 Hiroaki Ohta has been hand crafting knives since 1989 and began making Full Time in 1998.  His folding knives are prized the world over for their precision and beauty.  Hiroaki Ohta’s knives have been featured in the KNIVES Annuals and appeared in BLADE magazine last year.

  This is a design that Hiroaki has not made in Over Two Years!! I custom Ordered this example last year ~ it is the Largest and Strongest of Hiroaki’s Original Full Tang Line.  

 This knife has thick, Black Micarta handle scales that are very nicely contoured. Hiroaki’s Original Line has handles that are shaped like a Dog’s Hind Leg with a slight Bend in the Rear – this makes for a very secure and comfortable grip. 

 This is a Full Tang knife with a slightly Tapered Tang and a Swell at the Butt.  The handle fills the palm and there is plenty of room for all four Fingers as well as the ability to choke up a bit for fine work.

The ATS34 Steel blade is just slightly less than 3/16″, it has a Full Height Hollow Grind, a labor intensive Hand Rubbed / High Satin finish and an expert Heat Treat that leaves the blade at 61-62 Rc.  

This original design also incorporates a Gentle Distal Taper on the Blade to make slicing and cutting easier toward the tip. 

A perfect size for discreet and comfortable Belt Carry. Hiroaki also makes his own thick, Hand Stitched Leather Sheaths,  on this one he has added a new feature ~ a Full Kydex Lining.  

The knife is a perfect fit and it “locks” into place due to the Kydex Liner, this knife will not even fall out if you turn the sheath upside down and shake it!  

Complete with a Hand Carved Ironwood Ball for a cinch.
