This special Friction Folder has a blade made from Aogami Super Steel
An amazing knife in design and function, simple yet elegant.
A Friction Folder is the oldest of folding knife designs, ancient Viking Age Friction Folders (or Penny Knives as they were called) were used in Ancient Rome where they were a standard item for men of wealth and privilege!
The blade is perfectly centered and operates smoothly, opened using the Extended Tang ~ no play in any direction.
When opened, the Tongue is recessed into the handle.
This example by Hiroaki has hand carved Presentation grade Snakewood handles. It has a very smooth action and Hiroaki has designed the handle to resemble a Dog’s Hind Leg so that it fits in the hand very comfortably.
Hiroaki makes his own Thick Leather Sheaths for every knife, this one is special in that it has a Kydex Liner as well as a generous length of Paracord for neck wear.
This sheath holds the knife very securely, there is No Chance of it falling out when upside down around your neck. Hiroaki also Hand Crafts the Rosewood Ball that serves as a Cinch on the Paracord!
