Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer for Hiroaki Ohta hand made knives
~ Direct from the Maker from the recent NYCKS 2015 ~
This is an Elegant Gentleman’s fixed blade just received from Hiroaki
Hiroaki chose some beautiful Amber Sambar Stag for the handle scales that are well matched with Rich color and Gnarly Texture.
This is a Three Finger Grip with a Comfortable shape, the handle fits securely inside the palm and the Little Finger rides uthere is room for all four Fingers for a sure grip.
Note has Hiroaki Precision cut Canvas Micarta to cover the Exposed Tang of the knife – no other Maker I know of adds this touch to their fixed blades.
The ATS34 Steel blade has a Full Height Hollow Grind, a labor intensive Hand Rubbed / High Satin finish and an expert Heat Treat that leaves the blade at 61-62 Rc.
With the Ban on the Export of Indian Sambar Stag now over a decade old, Stag of this quality is long gone from the Open Market. Black Micarta Bolt Coverings compliment the appearance. A perfect size for discreet and comfortable Belt Carry.
Hiroaki also makes his own thick, Hand Stitched Leather Sheaths, this example has an added feature ~ a Full Kydex Lining!
The knife is a perfect fit and it “locks” into place due to the Kydex Liner, this knife will not even fall out if you turn the sheath upside down and shake it!
Set up with a Hardened Steel Carabiner Clip allows the sheath to be clipped to any Belt Loop or Strap.
