Fort Henry Custom Knives is proud to be a direct Dealer for Hiroaki Ohta custom knives

~ Direct from the Maker from the Blade Show 2017 ~

At the last show, Hiroaki brought more of this new design of smaller Friction Folder ~ each is Hand MadeThese are also special in that Hiroaki used tough D2 Steel for the Blade!

Friction Folder is the oldest of folding knife designs, ancient Viking Age Friction Folders (or Penny Knives as they were called ) have recently been discovered in Rome where they were a standard item for men of wealth and privilege!

This example by Hiroaki has an Integral handle, carved from a SINGLE PIECE of South American Purple Heartwood.

The Blade is opened using the Integral Extended Tang.

It has a very smooth action, the D2 blade has no play in any direction and the handle fits in the palm very comfortably. When opened, the extended Tang rests on top of the handle.

Hiroaki Hand Signs each knife at the Rear of the Handle under the Thong Hole.

Hiroaki also makes his own Leather Slip / Pocket Sheaths for every knife, well stitched and holds the knife securely. This knife comes with a Black Leather slip sheath.

A wonderful knife that will appeal to anyone who enjoys a Traditional / Quality product.

We have two of these so there may be some variation in wood texture/grain from the photograph.
