  This is a tough Full Sized Modified Drop Point from Hiroaki. I purchased a Medium sized of this model from Hiroaki in early 2012 and once I placed it on my belt it just would not come off!  

This is a Special Hidden Tang version that I ordered in Full Size and just picked up from Hiroaki at the Show.  The Hidden Tang extends approx 7/8s of the way ~ almost to the end of the handle.  This knife is rare in that it is one of the only Full Sized Hunters that Hiroaki has crafted featuring Shosui Takeda’s Hand Forged Aogami Super Steel!

Hiroaki hand ground the 1/8″ Thick Aogami Super Steel blade with a perfect Mid Height Hollow Grind, note the “San Mai” Lamination Line visible in the Steel, this delineates the Harder Edge from the Softer Spine ~ this makes for a superior Cutter that is still retains its lateral strength.  This is the way Japanese Swords were made for Thousands of years.  Hiroaki’s expert Heat Treat that leaves the blade at 63-64 Rc. 

 Hiroaki chose some gorgeous, Stabilized Desert Ironwood Wood for the handle, it has Amazing Grain and color. The handle has unique, Hand Filling contours, the Guard and Bolt Covers are tough Black Micarta. 

 Hiroaki makes the handles of his knives with the ultimate comfort in mind.  His knives are super examples of Form & Function – no hand fatigue, no hot spots, superb steel. 

Hiroaki makes his own thick Leather Sheaths, Hand Stitched.  On this one he has added a new feature ~ a Full Kydex Liner.  

The knife is a perfect fit and you can hear the Knife “lock” into place due to the Kydex Liner, this knife will not even fall out if you turn the sheath upside down and shake it!
