I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Gun & Knife Shows, most often to repeat Customers. Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he Forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

This is a Rare Larger Model from Herb, I have only seen one in the last few years ~ this is Herb’s Presentation Confederate Bowie knife.    

This special knife has Herb’s own Hand Forged Ladderback Damascus which is over 2,500 layers thick. This blade has an excellent Bowie shape with a bit of a Clip Point Grind and the expert Etch that Herb does brings out the beautiful Damascus pattern very well.

The Spine of the knife also has Herb’s Signature Decorative Filework

The knife also has a Wide Oval Nickel Silver Guard in front of the Stabilized Spalted Maple Burl spacer and a Stabilized Zebra Leg Bone handle. This is an amazing combination of materials.  

The Thick Oval Handle is approx 5″ Long and very Comfortable for a Medium to Large Grip. I love Herb’s Larger blades but he just doesn’t make them very often.  Such a Great Value in top quality materials.  

  The Heavy Leather Belt sheath has an African Ostrich Skin inlay 

And it has a Removable Belt Loop so that the Sheath can also be carried in the Boot! Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
