I have been a Dealer for Herb Derr Custom knives for over a decade, long before I had a website I sold Herb’s knives at Knife Shows and Gun Shows, often to repeat Customers. Herb’s pieces are sole authorship ~ he forges his own Damascus, grinds his own blades, makes his own Leather Sheaths and still finds time to Teach courses at a Community College on how to make Damascus.

Here is a rather rare knife from Herb, this is the smallest Model that I have ever seen Herb make, the most portable of any Derr knives! This is a perfect Size Personal Belt Knife!
This high contrast Carbon Damascus blade is over 2,500 layers thick. The knife has a Full Grip handle of Fossilized Oosic, it has rich Caramel coloring and is flanked by Nickel Silver Spacers and a Stabilized Spalted Maple spacer for color. The Oosic (also known as baculum) is used for copulation in a variety of very large underwater species of animals. A very unique material!
On this knife Herb has also added some Vine Filework on the Spine which looks great but has a dual purpose of also replacing Thumb Ridges for grip enhancement.
The Heavy Leather RH Belt sheath has an exotic Lizard Skin inlay along with Custom Tooling around the mouth of the Sheath. Nice snug fit and a wonderful compliment to the knife.
